Kitchen Cabinet Painting in Henley-on-Thames

A sprayed finish eliminates the brush and roller marks that accumulate when cabinet doors are painted by hand. Preventing it requires a fine sanding programme between every coat, not just before the first coat.

On handmade doors with complex profiles and moulded panel edges, fine-sanding in the profiled sections requires care to avoid flattening the moulding face. We sand with the profile, not across it.

A kitchen at £30,000 or more is not a candidate for replacement simply because the colour feels dated or the painted finish has worn. Cabinet repainting at a fraction of the replacement cost gives a result that is indistinguishable from a new kitchen in photographs and in person.

The carcasses, hinges, soft-close mechanisms, and worktops are typically in sound condition. Replacing the appearance by repainting the doors is a proportionate decision for any kitchen where the layout and construction are still working. Satin finish is the standard for kitchen cabinets. It is durable, cleanable, and reflects kitchen task lighting without the harshness of a full gloss. Matt kitchen finishes are available and suit certain design directions, but require careful handling advice as they mark more visibly than satin.
